//TODO: today - Development Progress

Hello! Since we have gone a while now without posting any updates we wanted to clarify a few things about the development progress of //TODO: today.

First off, we're still working on it and we want to finish it as soon as possible so you can experience the whole story!
But unfortunately it will take longer than originally anticipated.
The reason for that is that both Pectin and I are currently in our last year at University. We were lucky enough that NaNoRenO fell right into our semester break so we could work full-time and produce all of Part 1 in a single month.
But ever since April started we were back in our usual routine of working on University related projects, which is why we could only work on //TODO: today in our free time.

We don't want to disappoint the people who enjoyed Part 1 so even if it will take some more time we want to make sure that the second half of the game is as good as it can be.
Right now we are aiming to finish and release the complete game, including the second half, in August. And while we don't want to promise anything just yet we are confident that we will be able to finish the game until then.

So, what exactly is it that still needs to be done?
The most obvious answer: Writing and Art for Part 2. It's all planned and we know what we have to do, we simply need to find the time to actually make it!
Most of the music is already written, but some tracks still need to be finished and most still need some more polishing.
In addition to that we also want to expand and rework parts of the game's first half.

To give you an idea of what this includes, here's a list of the most important things still missing in Part 1:

  • Teal's Competition Artworks
  • Additional Editing
  • CG(s)
  • A Pyjama version of Teal
  • Work Uniforms for Teal and Phoenix
  • Additional Backgrounds (a Street for outside scenes, finished Bookstore Backgrounds, etc.)

To recap:

  • Because development will take longer than expected, we plan to release the complete version of //TODO: today in August 2017
  • We will rework and expand the first half a little more until then and release small updates as we work through the list above
